It’s been a day of new additions.
First – a new refrigerator! Boy we needed a new refrigerator and it was finally time. After weeks of research and the wait after ordering one, today was delivery day. They were supposed to come this morning between 9-11, but they called at 7:30 to say they were on their way. Before you knew it they were here and gone and we had a new refrigerator. It is quite strange to look at the same refrigerator for so many years, worrying about how dirty it must be underneath and behind it, and in just a few minutes the guy pulls it out and all the mystery is exposed. It was pretty dirty of course, but cleaned up in no time. Lots of change. A new fridge – no more was it all covered in magnets – in stainless – a different design. We did put a lot of the magnets on the side, but decided to leave the front almost magnet free. Our daughter wasn’t totally happy about it, but she never likes change. Anyway – we are getting used to it and look forward to filling it up.

The second new addition is a new guinea pig! One of our two pigs, Mei, died a few weeks ago and today we found a new pig to come in and eat the house out. We went out and looked last weekend and weren’t successful and then today went to the Va Beach Adoption Center – but weren’t successful there either. Then we went back to a store we went to last weekend and found the pig. A strange looking thing – but the kid really liked her. So home she went. After looking at her for a little while it dawn on us. She looked just like Edith from Downton Abbey – so that’s what we named her – Edith.
Uncanny, right? So funny. We were laughing our butts off. This one is feisty, too. She has held her own with the other much bigger one. And tonight she was sitting on our daughter’s lap and looking at us just talking and yelling – all the confidence in the world. I just hope we don’t get on her bad side…
We celebrated our new additions tonight, and our new president, and no more old president, and also the weekend – by going out for Mexican Food and having some margaritas! Oh the irony…
